A big smile is the best way to begin your day, and this special coffee will have you grinning from ear-to-ear.

Our Ethiopia Qey (Red) is the result of a special agreement with our coffee farmers. Only fully ripe red cherries are delivered in exchange for an extra premium paid to the farmer, over and above the prevailing farm gate price.

Unlike a bunch of grapes, coffee does not ripen simultaneously on the branch. This means that the harvest, typically lasting 2-3 months in most places, requires multiple passes to pick all the fruit off of the trees. Incentivising ripe picking is what helps to make this coffee so special.

After harvest, a special time-tested system of double washing, and an added long fermentation (36 hours in this case) helps to sort the coffee. After all this, the coffee is dried and hand-sorted again on raised beds.

This project is the first of its kind in this area, and we hope to see it expand it in coming seasons.

The result of all this special care is our pristine grade 1 Ethiopia Qey.

We perfectly roast and ship it directly to you fresh within 24 hours of roasting.

Fresh, beautiful coffee is a great reason to smile.
